About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support colocation and hyperscale data center projects from site due diligence and campus planning through design, construction documents, and construction administration
  • Support the Design Manager in daily project coordination across disciplines
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes
  • Capture technical notes during interdisciplinary meetings and confirm accuracy with discipline leads
  • Attend client and stakeholder meetings and track decisions, risks, and action items
  • Track, manage, and communicate project changes internally and externally
  • Grow into serving as backup to the Design Manager
  • Coordinate internal and external design meetings using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and client platforms
  • Track action items and follow up with internal teams
  • Distribute client communications and internal updates
  • Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, drawing revisions, and tracking logs
  • Update spreadsheets, dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools
  • Assist with specification edits, data entry, and internal reporting-system updates
  • Develop tracking mechanisms and suggest process improvements
  • Manage project files across SharePoint, MS Teams, Google Drive, and Box
  • Prepare and store QA/QC sets, daily prints, and deliverables
  • Assemble and organize final deliverables before submission
  • Support Design and Project Managers with technical and financial proposals for data center projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • 2+ years of experience working in A/E firms
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Architecture License (preferred)
  • 4 years of relevant experience in design and/or project management (preferred)
  • 1 year in colocation and/or hyper-scale data center design management or engineering (preferred)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in dynamic, time-sensitive situations
  • Ability to work in the US; sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available now or in the future
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other business-critical activities
  • Ability to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location
