About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee colocation and hyper-scale data center projects from site due diligence, campus planning, conceptual/schematic/detailed design through construction documents and construction administration
Lead data center due diligence and design teams across architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, fire protection, ICT, and BMS/EPMS disciplines
Deliver projects meeting client requirements, schedule, and quality standards
Develop and enforce multi-site project and program management plans
Host and attend meetings with clients and external stakeholders
Proactively manage and communicate project changes within AECOM and to clients
Identify problems early and develop creative solutions
Communicate project updates and resolve outstanding issues with stakeholders
Develop technical and financial proposals for new and add/move/change data center design projects
Develop trusting relationships with client stakeholders and buyers
Collaborate with global AECOM data center teams on high-profile projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, plus ten (10) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Master’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred
Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Architecture License preferred
12 years of relevant experience in design and/or project management preferred
Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred
Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Professional preferred
Active or recent leadership in a data center and mission-critical trade organization preferred
12 years in colocation and/or hyper-scale data center design management and engineering preferred
Excellent written and oral communication
Ability to work in dynamic, time-sensitive situations with minimal oversight
Team leadership skills
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
Eligible to work in the United States
