About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead architectural design for large-scale hyperscale cloud data center and colocation projects from concept through construction administration and closeout
Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines, construction teams, and external stakeholders on coordinated design solutions
Develop and review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client design guidelines
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and permitting authorities
Serve as architectural subject matter expert for hyperscale and colocation clients
Mentor and guide junior architects and designers
Maintain and apply data center design best practices and trends
Support business development, proposal writing, and conceptual architectural designs
Work with global AECOM teams on high-profile data center projects
Attend occasional client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other business-critical activities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Demonstrated experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects
Knowledge of building codes, mission critical infrastructure standards, and data center design requirements
Experience with BIM ACC (Revit), AutoCAD, and related design tools
5+ years of experience working with hyperscale client standards and colocation facility delivery models
Active U.S. Architectural license
LEED accreditation or equivalent sustainable design credentials
Experience working in fast-paced, global project environments
Extensive experience working with permitting authorities and AHJs
Leadership, communication, and project management skills
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams
No U.S. employment authorization sponsorship available now or in the future
