About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design and development of water and wastewater process solutions
  • Produce and review process engineering deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances and technical specifications
  • Provide technical leadership, solve complex engineering challenges and support project delivery
  • Participate in and contribute to HAZOP, HAZID and other process safety reviews
  • Prepare process safety documentation, including Hazardous Area Classification and LoPA assessments
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards and industry best practice
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
  • Support Southern Water’s £4.8bn investment programme across water and wastewater projects from concept through delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry/Biological Science
  • Chartered status or demonstrable learning and development toward achieving chartered status
  • Water industry experience
  • Ability to work across London, St Albans, Croydon or Basingstoke / Southern UK locations
  • Ability to attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location
  • Ability to travel occasionally to client sites
