About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design and development of water and wastewater process solutions
- Produce and review process engineering deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances and technical specifications
- Provide technical leadership and solve complex engineering challenges
- Support project delivery
- Participate in and contribute to HAZOP, HAZID and other process safety reviews
- Prepare process safety documentation, including Hazardous Area Classification and LoPA assessments
- Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards and industry best practice
- Collaborate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Deliver projects supporting Southern Water’s £4.8bn investment programme from concept through delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry/Biological Science
- Chartered status or demonstrable learning and development on course to achieve chartered status
- Water industry experience
- Experience with water and wastewater process solutions
- Knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances and technical specifications
- Ability to participate in HAZOP, HAZID and other process safety reviews
- Ability to prepare Hazardous Area Classification and LoPA assessments
- Ability to ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards and industry best practice
- Ability to work with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location
