About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers
- Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
- Execute detailed and routine engineering tasks, including preparing structural calculations
- Propose approaches to solve new problems and escalate appropriately
- Identify and communicate discrepancies in results and support resolution with the team
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop solutions and support client needs
- Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules with moderate supervision
- Document work clearly through calculations, markups, and redlines to support quality reviews and project records
- Contribute to multidisciplinary projects for heavy industrial, steam, thermal power generation, and advanced nuclear technology clients
- Coordinate with team members across disciplines while supporting quality, budget, and schedule commitments
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field plus 2 years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
- Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) progress toward licensure encouraged
- Experience preparing structural calculations and basic design deliverables, such as plans, details, and reports
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, dynamic environment
- Familiarity with common structural analysis and documentation tools
- Prior experience supporting senior engineers on the design of open structures
- Understanding and experience in civil and structural design and principles
- No sponsorship for US employment authorization is available now or in the future
- Must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location
