About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments under experienced engineers
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures
  • Complete detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests
  • Propose approaches to solve new problems
  • Identify discrepancies in results
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed budgets and schedules with moderate supervision
  • Design utility-scale physical substations in the power delivery industry
  • Attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with high voltage substation design
  • EIT Certification
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Bentley Microstation
  • Professional engineering license or ability to obtain one within 2 years of hire (preferred)
  • Knowledge of construction practices and constructability
  • Experience with proposal writing and project estimating
  • Working knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes
  • Knowledge of industry and technology trends specific to substations
  • Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, NESC, and NEC codes and standards
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to use sound engineering judgment
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available
