About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create and refine practical data governance policies, frameworks, and procedures
  • Clarify accountability for data assets and promote responsible data stewardship
  • Build stakeholder relationships to understand data needs, challenges, and opportunities
  • Promote data literacy and awareness through training, communication, and support
  • Drive adoption of data cataloguing and lineage tools and practices
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Delivery teams on data catalogues and lineage capabilities
  • Set data quality standards and resolve data quality issues
  • Oversee handling of personal and sensitive data for privacy compliance
  • Monitor data regulations including GDPR and CCPA and support audits and regulatory reviews
  • Track governance, data quality, compliance, and value-delivery metrics and report to leadership
  • Guide adoption of new data policies, tools, and processes
  • Align data initiatives with business strategy to enable innovation and efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Financial Services industry experience
  • Good knowledge of data governance, data quality, data privacy, and/or risk management frameworks
  • Good understanding of how data supports business
  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders across diverse business functions
  • Good knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements relating to data governance, privacy, and quality
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex data concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without immigration sponsorship or employer-of-record immigration support
  • Asset management industry experience preferred
  • Experience working in global, cross-functional teams in a matrix-management environment preferred
  • Strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and proactive approach preferred
