About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support development of computer vision and machine learning algorithms for object detection, classification, localization, and tracking
  • Develop real-time automated target recognition capabilities from stationary and mobile sensor platforms
  • Perform visual imagery data science to inform data collection, labeling, and selection for deep computer vision ML training
  • Train algorithms and validate data selection and algorithm design through purpose-designed experiments
  • Analyze and rank ML algorithms by their success probability on new data
  • Set objectives, develop models, and define progress metrics
  • Select appropriate datasets and data representations
  • Analyze data and model errors and develop strategies to overcome them
  • Write and test software integrating machine learning algorithms into aircraft and other systems
  • Participate across requirements gathering, algorithm design, prototyping, testing, evaluation, validation, and verification
  • Provide on-site support for experimentation and fielded systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • U.S. Citizen required
  • Active Secret level (or higher) DoD security clearance
  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related Science or Engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in machine learning and/or computer vision
  • 2–5 years of relevant computer vision experience
  • Familiarity with Python and C/C++
  • Proficiency with a deep learning framework, preferably PyTorch
  • Proficiency with Open-CV, scikit-learn, and pandas
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • Familiarity with Nvidia Tools (CUDA, JetPack, TensorRT) and deployment to Nvidia GPUs
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and perform algorithmic optimization
  • Ability to perform exploratory data analysis, including visualizing and manipulating large datasets
  • Familiarity with office software and computer-based productivity tools
  • Ability to work within defined requirements under moderate supervision
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Effective problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS, occasionally/up to 25%
  • Ability to work in an office environment
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods and operate a computer keyboard
