About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Establish, implement, and maintain AV’s enterprise cybersecurity vision, strategy, and program
  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets and technology resources
  • Provide strategic leadership for classified and unclassified defense programs
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements and applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations
  • Advance CMMC posture and maintain alignment with NIST frameworks
  • Develop and execute cybersecurity strategies supporting growth, acquisition, and integration initiatives
  • Advise executive leadership and the Board of Directors on cybersecurity, governance, cyber risk, and protection of sensitive information
  • Develop cybersecurity strategy, governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures
  • Liaise with government customers, DCMA, DCSA, and regulatory bodies
  • Brief the Board, CEO, and executive leadership on security posture, risks, and initiatives
  • Lead cybersecurity enterprise risk management and oversee budget planning and resource allocation
  • Lead CMMC readiness and certification efforts
  • Manage SSP, POA&M, continuous monitoring, NIST 800-53 control implementation, and RMF authorization processes
  • Coordinate DIB Cybersecurity Program requirements and develop insider threat programs
  • Lead international cybersecurity compliance strategy and cross-border data transfer controls
  • Direct SOC, incident response, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and security assessments
  • Oversee SIEM, EDR, DLP, IAM, encryption, cloud security, privileged access management, and DevSecOps
  • Oversee cybersecurity governance for SAP/SAR, SCIF network operations, COMSEC, and TEMPEST compliance
  • Lead cyber incident response planning and execution, including required DoD and FBI reporting
  • Oversee business continuity and disaster recovery planning
  • Manage external incident response and forensic relationships
  • Establish third-party risk management, vendor assessments, supply chain security, and subcontractor compliance programs
  • Build, lead, and mentor information security and cybersecurity teams
  • Establish organizational structures across operations, GRC, security architecture, and program security
  • Implement security awareness, education, and training programs
  • Develop succession planning and talent development strategies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related technical field required
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in information security
  • At least 10 years in senior leadership roles
  • Extensive experience in defense contracting environment with classified programs
  • Proven track record implementing and maintaining DoD cybersecurity compliance programs (NIST 800-171, CMMC, RMF)
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-wide security programs in complex, multi-site organizations
  • Experience leading organizations through CMMC certification and FedRAMP authorization processes
  • Strong background in both physical and cyber security operations
  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance required
  • CISSP required
  • One or more of CISM, CISA, or CRISC required
  • Deep understanding of NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-53, and NIST SP 800-171
  • Expertise in CMMC 2.0 requirements and assessment processes
  • Knowledge of DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG) and FedRAMP
  • Understanding of DFARS, FAR, ITAR, EAR, and related defense contracting regulations
  • Proficiency with SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM, PAM, DLP, CASB, firewall/IDS/IPS
  • Understanding of secure software development practices and DevSecOps methodologies
  • Knowledge of zero trust architecture principles and implementation
  • Familiarity with classified network operations and cross-domain solutions
  • Experience managing and developing diverse, geographically distributed teams
  • Budget management and financial acumen
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR or be approved for an export license
