Manage a team of machine learning engineers building models powering credit lending decisions across Europe and Australia.
Lead use of novel machine learning techniques and rich data representations to predict repayment behavior and optimize loan offers.
Set the technical strategy for the team and connect engineers to business-impacting underwriting projects.
Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes.
Collaborate with product management, design, analytics, risk, and engineering across the product development lifecycle.
Ensure technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs are understood and managed.
Develop talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
Partner with engineering, product, and risk leaders to design, implement, and scale advanced ML solutions.
Contribute to a cohesive long-term machine learning strategy.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's in a technical field with 8+ years of industry experience, including 3+ years managing engineers.
Background in financial services, specifically in credit / lending.
Proficiency in machine learning, including tree-based models, transformers, deep learning, and agentic ML.
Strong engineering skills and ability to provide hands-on technical leadership while working with code and architecture.
Comfortable moving from low-level language idioms to the architecture of large systems.
On-call rotation is a requirement.
Must be based in Spain.
