Key responsibilities & impact

Drive technical strategy by leading project planning, prioritization, and execution
Lead end-to-end system design and development of large-scale, high-availability services
Build robust APIs and data models for microservice and event-driven architectures
Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Design, Legal, and Accounting on card loan attribution and lifecycle strategy
Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues
Optimize existing code and drive robust, scalable solutions
Mentor junior engineers and guide team growth
Lead technical discussions and design reviews
Champion best practices through code review

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in software development or engineering
Deep understanding of system design and architecture
Motivated leader who inspires team growth and fosters continuous learning
Excellent communication skills for sharing complex ideas with diverse audiences
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Kotlin, or similar
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems
Knowledge of web frameworks and RESTful API development
Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Must reside in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan
