Key responsibilities & impact

Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team
Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
Support team members throughout delivery
Collaborate with product management, design and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle
Participate in ideation and articulate technical constraints
Partner on decisions considering risks and trade-offs
Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology and business issues
Create and monitor metrics supporting operations and artifact availability
Escalate issues and support keep-the-lights-on and on-call efforts
Set or improve code review and design standards
Advocate for engineering standards through writing and tech talks
Develop team talent through feedback, guidance and leading by example

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of experience developing and architecting mobile applications, preferably using declarative UI frameworks like React Native
Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems
Proficiency in Python or Kotlin
Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components
High-quality, understandable and reusable code
Proficiency making significant changes in a large code base
Experience with tools and practices enabling safe codebase changes
Proactive ownership of professional growth and feedback-seeking
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Required participation in an on-call rotation
Must be based in Spain; visa sponsorship is available
