Key responsibilities & impact

Break down larger projects into individual tasks and deliver them in multiple phases
Collaborate with product management, design and analytics on ideation and technical decisions
Articulate technical constraints and consider risks and trade-offs
Create and monitor metrics for team artifacts
Escalate issues and support operational availability, keep-the-lights-on and on-call efforts
Participate in interview and growth and development activities
Build tools and systems that make batch development and testing faster and more reliable
Partner with product and infrastructure engineers to streamline workflows and improve reliability of critical batch workloads

Requirements

What you’ll need

1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer
Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems
Proficiency in Python or Kotlin
Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes
Ability to design solutions interacting with multiple software components
Ability to write clear, well-tested and extensible code
Comfortable navigating large code bases and debugging others' code
Experience providing code review feedback
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
