Key responsibilities & impact

Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale and connect it to critical, business-impacting projects
Shape the Recoveries platform and drive cross-team technical initiatives
Optimize recovery strategies and enable flexible customer-facing experiences
Strengthen the reliability and scalability of financial and partner integrations
Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle
Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes
Own team operations and availability, including monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, alerting, and on-call efforts
Establish code review and design standards and advocate for them through writing and tech talks
Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example
Help scale decisioning capabilities, expand internationally, strengthen data integrity and reconciliation, and build next-generation recovery products

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of experience as a software engineer
Proficiency in designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
Experience designing and operating correctness-sensitive batch, asynchronous, or data-processing systems
Experience with scheduled workflows, backfills, reconciliation, observability, and robust failure handling
Experience architecting solutions across complex systems and organizational boundaries
Ability to drive changes across backend services and customer-facing applications to deliver end-to-end outcomes
Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating existing functionality through a technical and execution plan
Ability to write high-quality, easily understood code
Ability to work from low-level language idioms through large-system architecture
Demonstrated growth and impact through gathering and iterating on feedback
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be based in Poland
