Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale and connect it to business-impacting projects
  • Shape the Recoveries platform through cross-team technical initiatives
  • Optimize recovery strategies and enable flexible customer-facing experiences
  • Strengthen the reliability and scalability of financial and partner integrations
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes
  • Own team operations and availability through monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting
  • Establish code review and design standards and advocate through writing and tech talks
  • Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example
  • Participate in a required on-call rotation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • Proficiency in designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
  • Experience designing and operating correctness-sensitive batch, asynchronous, or data-processing systems, including scheduled workflows, backfills, reconciliation, observability, and robust failure handling
  • Experience architecting solutions across complex systems and organizational boundaries
  • Experience driving changes across backend services and customer-facing applications to deliver end-to-end outcomes
  • Experience delivering major features or system components, or deprecating existing functionality, through technical and execution plans
  • High-quality coding skills
  • Ability to understand low-level language idioms and large-system architecture
  • Demonstrated growth and impact through gathering and iterating on peer feedback
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to participate in a required on-call rotation
  • Must be based in Spain
