Investigate fraud patterns and propose data-driven preventive rules, models, and actions
Develop, validate, and monitor models and performance indicators
Assess impacts on losses, precision, recall, false positives, approval rates, and friction
Conduct simulations and tests, and track strategies after implementation
Turn analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership and partner teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Advanced Python and SQL skills
Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, query optimization, and processing large volumes of data
Knowledge of classification models, data preparation, model validation, and model evaluation
Knowledge of performance metrics and financial impact analysis
Knowledge of fraud prevention, card authorization, and payment methods
Analytical mindset, critical thinking, autonomy, business acumen, prioritization, collaboration, and clear communication with leadership
Ability to translate technical analyses into business decisions
Familiarity with ISO 8583, card messaging, and authorization flows between issuers, acquirers, processors, and card networks is a plus
Familiarity with EMV 3-D Secure and transaction authentication processes is a plus
Familiarity with XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost, imbalanced-class handling, and SHAP is a plus
Experience with fraud prevention engines, especially Falcon and Visa Risk Manager (VRM), is a differentiator
Experience with PySpark, AWS Athena/S3, data lakes, and pipeline automation is a differentiator
Experience deploying and monitoring models in production in high-volume environments is a differentiator
Knowledge of SciPy, statsmodels, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Plotly is a differentiator
