About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver instructor-led training in project management fundamentals, methodologies, scheduling, project controls, and related software applications
- Teach professionals ranging from entry-level practitioners to experienced project managers
- Provide hands-on software instruction involving project management and scheduling platforms
- Develop and adapt course materials, exercises, case studies, and practical workshops
- Support training programs for USACE, DoD, and international customers, including engineering and infrastructure organizations
- Travel approximately 30–40 days annually for domestic and international assignments, potentially involving multi-week trips
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of hands-on project/program management experience managing complex projects or programs
- Demonstrated experience teaching or facilitating project management concepts to adult professionals
- Strong knowledge of scheduling and project controls, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and performance
- PMP certification or equivalent demonstrated senior-level project management expertise
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively, domestically and internationally, including recurring multi-week assignments
- Experience in Federal/DoD, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or similarly complex project environments
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and software platforms such as Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Cloud, Microsoft Project, or comparable systems
- Proven experience delivering in-person classroom training to professional audiences
- Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in project management, engineering, construction management, business, or a related discipline (preferred)
- Experience supporting USACE, DoD, or another Federal agency (preferred)
- Familiarity with USACE Project Management Business Process (PMBP) and Project Delivery Team environments (preferred)
- Experience with Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and integrated project controls (preferred)
- Working knowledge of Oracle Primavera P6 and/or Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) (preferred)
- Experience developing project management or scheduling curriculum (preferred)
- Experience delivering multi-day or multi-week professional training (preferred)
- Experience delivering training internationally or to multicultural audiences (preferred)
- Experience working with interpreters or translated instructional materials (preferred)
