About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support Agriculture Specialists and Soil Scientists by collecting agricultural samples such as soil, leaves, and water
Collect soil, water, leaf, petiole, and other samples from farms according to relevant SOPs
Capture location data on Trimble or MYFARMWEB™ CAPTURE
Complete the relevant online job card for every sample by accurately capturing data
Send samples and related paperwork to the correct laboratories
Complete weekly machine checklists
Perform ad hoc or other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

National Senior Certificate
Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing)
Computer literate
Able to lift and carry > 12 pounds/6kg comfortably
Excellent attention to detail
Comfortable with routine work but flexible enough to adjust to ad hoc situations
Able to work under pressure
Excellent communication skills
Effective organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
Able to work in a team environment as well as on your own
Agriculture Qualification will be advantageous
Experience with agriculture will be advantageous
Must own or be able to acquire a suitable pickup truck (bakkie)
Must be available to work every second Saturday, as required
Must be willing to travel extensively, both locally and internationally
Must be prepared to work long hours when necessary
