About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct scheduled aircraft inspections and unscheduled maintenance according to approved manuals, manufacturer publications, and federal regulations
  • Perform preventive maintenance, operational checks, servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of airframe, powerplant, propeller, electrical, and avionics systems
  • Perform operational and functional checks after maintenance to verify system operation and correction of discrepancies
  • Identify and communicate safety, reliability, and maintenance concerns to the Director, Aircraft Maintenance
  • Research and investigate solutions to engine, airframe, and appliance malfunctions
  • Support aircraft recovery and troubleshooting outside normal working hours and at off-site locations as assigned
  • Assist with aircraft cleaning and maintain clean, orderly, serviceable aircraft interiors and exteriors
  • Complete aircraft maintenance records, logbook entries, and internal documentation
  • Track aircraft hours, inspection intervals, component life limits, and scheduled maintenance
  • Maintain component traceability records and verify parts tags against maintenance history
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, service, maintain, and repair ground support equipment
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe hangar facilities and work areas
  • Maintain aircraft maintenance tools, test equipment, and specialized tooling
  • Support special projects, aircraft modifications, maintenance improvement initiatives, and audits
  • Participate in professional development, scholarly and creative activities, service to the college, and other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • One (1) year of operational aircraft maintenance experience
  • Must hold and maintain FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Must successfully pass an MVR and be insurable under Aims insurance
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment post-offer urine analysis
  • A pre-employment post-offer physical evaluation is required
  • Required documents: Resume, Cover Letter, FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Associate Degree in Aviation, Engineering, Education, or another related field (preferred)
  • Two (2) years operational general aviation aircraft fleet maintenance experience (preferred)
  • Aircraft Mechanics who hold an Inspection Authorization (preferred)
  • High level of trade specific computer skills (preferred)
  • Experience in risk management and mitigation (preferred)
  • Must provide identity and authorization-to-work documents within three business days of hire if hired
  • Must complete a criminal background check upon hire
