About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver safe, evidence-based GLP-1 prescribing
- Own the clinical quality, safety, and accuracy of consultations and records
- Run detailed, efficient consultations and assess suitability, comorbidities, and contraindications
- Monitor treatment response and side effects and adjust care safely
- Escalate red flags, near misses, protocol gaps, and complex cases
- Follow and improve evolving clinical protocols
- Maintain accurate, concise, contemporaneous clinical records suitable for audit
- Contribute to clinical audits, incident learning, and quality improvement
- Collaborate with customer support, operations, and technology teams
- Work through GLP-1 weight-management consultations and report to the team lead
Requirements
What you’ll need- GPhC-registered pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber (IP) annotation held for at least 1 year
- Experience prescribing weight-management treatments, GLP-1s, or a closely related area
- Clear and quick clinical reasoning within a protocol-led service
- Strong commitment to patient safety and quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including patient counselling
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment without compromising accuracy
- Confident using electronic health records and remote consultation platforms
- Willing to support evening or weekend rotas when needed
- Experience with asynchronous, telephone, and/or video consultations (nice to have)
- Additional obesity or weight-management training, such as SCOPE certification (nice to have)
- Postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent (nice to have)
- Experience managing patients with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal impairment, or polypharmacy (nice to have)
- Experience with clinical audits, incident investigations, quality-improvement projects, SOPs, clinical protocols, or prescribing pathways (nice to have)
