About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the Railroad Commission of Texas on the Mainframe Reports and Extract effort
Perform advanced business analysis for complex, emerging technology hardware and software projects
Gather and document business requirements using multiple elicitation methods
Review, assess, and develop business processes for reporting and data initiatives
Perform data analysis and root cause analysis of data errors
Create and maintain data flow documentation for interrelated reporting projects
Support report development using Power BI and Snowflake
Coordinate data publishing on the DIR Open Data Portal or the RRC website
Create and validate user acceptance testing
Support training and implementation activities
Work with business area personnel to design technical solutions meeting business requirements
Provide research and special project support to users
Ensure deliverables follow established processes, consistent quality standards, and accepted business analysis methodologies
Assign and supervise the work of others as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

8 years of strong interpersonal, collaborative, analytical, written, verbal, and presentation communication skills in English
8 years of experience gathering requirements and creating reports
8 years of experience facilitating the creation and analysis of business requirements and working with business area personnel to design technical solutions
5 years of experience participating in and providing guidance to the business in developing and completing user acceptance testing, training, and implementation-related activities
2 years of experience with Snowflake and Power BI
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Candidates who currently reside in Texas are preferred
2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry preferred
