About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Benelux Head of Finance (CFO) as the strategic financial cornerstone for local entities
- Act as the main country interface for Lisbon’s Shared Service Centre, managing escalations, clarifying daily instructions, and troubleshooting operational accounting issues
- Conduct periodic reviews of balance sheet items and support resolution of discrepancies
- Safeguard local regulations, tax compliance, and Group IFRS
- Own local accounting activities including balance sheet reviews, bank relations, and physical inventory checks
- Serve as key contact for auditors and tax authorities
- Hold country sign-off authority for critical financial flows including VAT, payments, and reimbursement claims
- Uphold internal control frameworks
- Ensure timely and accurate group consolidation reporting packages that reconcile with local statutory accounts
- Partner with local teams, the SSC, and IT to optimize ERP workflows, banking interfaces, and day-to-day finance systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2 to 5 years of experience in financial accounting, GL, or financial reporting
- CPA is a plus
- Strong grounding in accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)
- Knowledge of internal controls (SOX)
- Solid ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Professional fluency in Dutch and English
- French is an asset
- Willingness to travel within the Benelux region approximately 2–3 days per month between Zemst and Lelystad
- Analytical, proactive communicator who enjoys solving operational bottlenecks and driving accuracy
