About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform pre-induction maintenance flights, post maintenance flights, ground runs and ferry flights
  • Ensure aircraft are airworthy and weather conditions are appropriate for maintenance operational flights and repositioning ferry flights
  • Brief and/or supervise associated personnel in aircraft operations
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Air Methods policies and procedures
  • Ensure aircraft are returned to revenue service fully operational and capable of performing the air medical mission according to OEM guidelines and supplemental type certificates
  • Operate all assigned aircraft safely and legally
  • Perform aircraft preservation and post-maintenance ground runs
  • Complete pre-flight inspections and aircraft walk-arounds before and after flights
  • Perform post-maintenance test flights for Return To Service per MOC/ROC requirements
  • Ferry aircraft under Part 91 Rules, VFR only
  • Hold final authority for aircraft operations and safety of crew, passengers, cargo and equipment
  • Complete required documentation
  • Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1200 hours total time
  • 500 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours turbine time
  • 100 hours of cross-country flight time, at least 25 hours of which were at night
  • 50 hours actual or simulated instrument time in flight and in category
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating or ATP: Rotorcraft, Helicopter
  • Current Class I or II medical certificate
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Capable of maintaining qualification in multiple aircraft
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • 2-5 years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred)
  • Previous experience in dedicated maintenance support, or as production or post-maintenance test pilot preferred
  • Previous Part 135 experience preferred
