About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform pre-induction maintenance flights
  • Perform post-maintenance flights
  • Perform aircraft preservation and post-maintenance ground runs
  • Perform aircraft post-maintenance test flights for Return To Service per MOC/ROC requirements
  • Ferry aircraft under Part 91 Rules, VFR only
  • Operate assigned aircraft safely and legally at all times
  • Verify aircraft airworthiness through pre-flight inspections and complete walk-arounds before and after each flight
  • Determine whether weather conditions are appropriate for maintenance operational and repositioning ferry flights
  • Brief and/or supervise associated personnel in aircraft operations
  • Serve as final authority for aircraft operations and safety of crew, passengers, cargo and equipment
  • Complete required documentation
  • Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards
  • Ensure aircraft are returned to revenue service fully operational and capable of performing the air medical mission

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1200 hours total time
  • 500 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours turbine time
  • 100 hours of cross-country flight time, at least 25 hours of which were at night
  • 50 hours actual or simulated instrument time in flight and in category
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating or ATP: Rotorcraft, Helicopter
  • Current Class I or II medical certificate
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Capable of maintaining qualification in multiple aircraft
  • 2-5 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Previous experience in dedicated maintenance support, or as production or post-maintenance test pilot preferred
  • Previous Part 135 experience preferred
  • Preferred Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • Must comply with Federal Aviation Regulations, Air Methods policies and procedures, OEM guidelines and supplemental type certificates
  • Schedule: 7/7
  • Greater than 75% travel
