About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor and oversee the safe conduct of the company’s aircraft flight operations
- Monitor crew duty-time limitations, currency requirements, and aircraft status for compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
- Review medical Flight Risk Assessments with the pilot-in-command as required
- Collect, disseminate, and distribute information regarding operational-control problems requiring immediate attention
- Expedite follow-up actions to resolve operational-control problems
- Report and record flight-operations safety irregularities and emergency measures
- Analyze and evaluate meteorological information to identify potential flight-safety hazards
- Communicate hazardous flight conditions and other information affecting flight safety
- Participate in recurrent training covering company operations policy and Federal Aviation Regulations
- Maintain current knowledge of operation manuals and regulatory requirements
- Work rotating day, mid, and night shifts supporting 24/7/365 aircraft operations
- Travel approximately 10% of the time
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three to five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years in qualifying military aircraft operations, Part 135 air ambulance air carrier operations, air carrier operations as a certified aircraft dispatcher or meteorologist, aircraft operations as an air traffic controller or flight service specialist, or air ambulance communication center flight following
- Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
- Successfully pass the knowledge and practical test required by 14 CFR 135.619
- Successfully pass FAA-mandated Drug and Alcohol Test
- Demonstrated active listening, good judgment, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- FAA Commercial/Instrument (Rotorcraft or Airplane) Certificate or FAA Dispatcher Certificate preferred
- Ability to work regular rotating 8–10 hour day, mid, and night shifts
- Must satisfy applicable DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing requirements
