About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report to the assigned facility unless otherwise directed
  • Comply with PIC duties and responsibilities under the Air Methods GOM
  • Operate assigned aircraft safely and legally
  • Perform aircraft preservation and post-maintenance ground runs
  • Complete pre-flight inspections and aircraft walkarounds before and after each flight
  • Perform post-maintenance operational flights for Return to Service according to OEM and regulatory requirements
  • Ferry aircraft as directed
  • Ensure aircraft systems and installed equipment are airworthy and operationally functional before revenue service
  • Maintain final authority over aircraft operations and the safety of crew, passengers, cargo, and equipment
  • Complete required documentation
  • Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice
  • Brief and/or supervise associated personnel in aircraft operations as applicable
  • Ensure compliance with FARs, Air Methods policies and procedures, OEM guidelines, and supplemental type certificates
  • Support the return of Air Methods aircraft to fully operational revenue service for air medical missions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must live within 1 hour of the facility location
  • 1200 hours total flight time
  • 500 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours turbine time
  • 100 hours cross-country flight time, including at least 25 hours at night
  • 50 hours actual or simulated instrument time in flight and in category
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating or ATP: Rotorcraft, Helicopter
  • Current Class I or II medical certificate
  • Preferred Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • Capable of maintaining qualification in multiple aircraft
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2–5 years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred)
  • Previous dedicated maintenance support, production, or post-maintenance test pilot experience preferred
  • Previous Part 135 experience preferred
