About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create assigned SAP project, route Capital Project Request, and monitor for approval
  • Submit capitalizations as directed on monthly WIP report and provide project status updates
  • Submit Capital Asset Disposal Requests and monitor for approval
  • Create capital project cost reports
  • Close SAP project structures
  • Update projects and resolve issues based on project accounting and accounts payable reports
  • Maintain an active list of sites with Cost Centers, Profit Centers, contract end dates, and DOAs for the EGC region
  • Serve as SAP Power User for Project Systems
  • Designate new worker SAP roles
  • Support users with complex questions and issues
  • Provide training to new and existing group resources
  • Support strategic planning, turnaround preparation, and outage execution for small capital projects under $5 million across North American operations
  • Support operational excellence at Hydrogen (H₂/HyCO) and Air Separation Unit (ASU) facilities
  • Work professionally and harmoniously with coworkers, supervisors, management, support personnel, program participants, and business-related persons
  • Apply positive and constructive approaches to resolving problems and conflicts
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently and reliably while maintaining confidentiality

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong understanding of SAP
  • Strong understanding of all Microsoft applications
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Basic understand of accounting principles
  • Role model within Project Engineering function
  • Organizational credibility—able to influence business area, engineering and manufacturing managers in decision making process
  • 5-15 years' experience in plant projects
  • Obtain TWIC, passport and pass refinery background checks
  • Able to achieve various State mandated certifications (TWIC, OSHA, etc.) and other requirements as may be deemed necessary
  • Pass criminal background investigation
  • Subject to pre-employment, reasonable cause periodic, random, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing
  • High ethical standards and commitment to worker safety and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work within and promote a teamwork philosophy
  • Ability to remain calm in demanding situations
  • Ability to accept direction, feedback, and supervision
