About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and maintain reliable test infrastructure for automated integration and end-to-end testing
Provision, configure, and tear down test environments, including ephemeral environments
Work with Docker and Kubernetes to support containerized applications and testing dependencies
Improve consistency across local, CI, and shared test environments
Diagnose application configuration, service connectivity, container workload, and environment readiness issues
Build tooling to reduce manual test-environment work
Create, seed, validate, refresh, and clean up test data
Apply privacy-aware practices, including sanitization, masking, and synthetic data
Build and troubleshoot automated testing workflows in CI/CD pipelines
Integrate environment provisioning, readiness checks, test data setup, test execution, and cleanup into delivery workflows
Implement quality gates and improve speed and reliability through parallelization, test isolation, resource management, and failure diagnostics
Improve failure investigation through logs, reports, and diagnostic artifacts
Develop automation and supporting tools using Python and Pytest
Extend shared fixtures, reusable modules, and test utilities
Support API, integration, and browser-based automation, including Playwright
Collaborate with developers and SDETs on testability
Own improvements from problem definition through implementation, adoption, and maintenance
Help define technical direction for test infrastructure and test data management
Document workflows, troubleshooting practices, and technical decisions
Mentor teammates through code reviews, pairing, and practical guidance
Communicate trade-offs and prioritize improvements that affect engineering productivity and release confidence

Requirements

What you’ll need

Significant hands-on experience as an SDET, quality engineer, or software engineer working on test infrastructure and automation, with demonstrated senior-level ownership
Direct experience building and troubleshooting test environments and CI/CD pipelines
Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including configuring workloads and investigating failures in containerized environments
Experience provisioning and maintaining non-production environments, managing application configuration, and supporting dependent services
Strong programming skills in Python, ideally with Pytest; C# experience is also valuable
Strong working knowledge of SQL, MongoDB, and test data management, including data setup, validation, isolation, and cleanup
Experience integrating automated testing into GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins, and familiarity with deployment workflows
Ability to debug problems across code, pipelines, infrastructure, configuration, and data
Sound engineering judgment and ability to build maintainable solutions
Collaborative, self-directed approach and ability to turn ambiguous problems into practical improvements
Thoughtful use of AI-assisted development tools, with ownership of submitted code
Particularly valuable: ephemeral or on-demand test environments; sensitive test data management; startup or small-team experience; infrastructure-as-code; API and integration testing; Playwright-based browser automation; performance and load testing
