About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the team building Airbnb security products for engineers, including secure development frameworks, secure-by-default infrastructure products, and identity and access platforms
Own the roadmap for security products spanning secure SDLC, vulnerability management, infrastructure security, and platform identity
Drive product thinking around users, adoption, and deprecation
Identify gaps in the company’s security posture and shape them into team-owned initiatives
Present engineering progress, implications, dates, and asks to leadership
Resolve ownership questions between teams involving platform identity, agentic identity, and infrastructure policy
Grow senior and Staff engineers through sponsorship, hiring, promotion cases, and coaching
Collaborate with infrastructure, product engineering, compliance, and cross-functional partners

Requirements

What you’ll need

3-5+ years of hands-on experience managing a software engineering team
9+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast-paced tech environment
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
Strong product and design instinct
Proven experience building delightfully designed experiences
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Proven experience working with many engineering teams and cross-functional partners
Flexible leadership style adaptable to different ways of working
Experience leading and shipping large initiatives with high business impact
Experience shipping or running security software engineering or infrastructure products integrated with and depended on by software engineering teams
Ability to create a strong culture of operational excellence focused on quality, reliability, and availability
Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
