About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure systems underpinning Airbnb's Zero Trust ecosystem
  • Execute critical client, identity, endpoint security, and zero trust platforms
  • Work with open source products to build the next-generation client platform for Airbnb corporate endpoints
  • Build on the zero trust backend suite, supporting security services, network paths, and user and device signaling
  • Support executive-level Airbnb staff with endpoint and identity solutions
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to optimize endpoints and identity flows for employees and partners
  • Work closely with security engineering teams to design features and evolve platforms
  • Lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's and/or Master/PhD's degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in test driven software development
  • Extensive experience with Go, Python, or Java; Go strongly preferred
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with infrastructure as code deployments
  • Experience developing and deploying services in a Kubernetes environment
  • Solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers
  • Motivation for personal growth and learning new technologies
  • Must live where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
  • Position based in California, ideally San Francisco
