About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive the technical direction of AirChatUI, Airbnb’s AI Prototyping harness and native macOS app
  • Drive implementation and scaling of a system generating internal product feature prototypes, internal tools, and data visualizations
  • Own strategy and execution for the web prototyping experience
  • Own native iOS prototyping capabilities and iOS prototype app deployments
  • Develop AI skills and agents supporting product feature prototyping, AirChat CLI, and AirChat Remote
  • Integrate AirChatUI into Kyber, Airbnb’s web-based prototyping and rapid deployment platform
  • Set technical direction and make architectural decisions for rapid prototype development systems
  • Design and build macOS and iOS features using modern declarative UI and unidirectional state architecture
  • Contribute to web-based prototyping functionality in Kyber
  • Write and review code hands-on and with AI coding agents
  • Maintain quality, availability, and system health across the platform
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Product, Security, and Design
  • Enable Product Managers, Designers, and other non-technical builders to create rich product feature prototypes
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and contribute to shared iOS patterns and best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5-9+ years of industry experience, ideally within fast-paced environments
  • Track record of shipping features in large-scale consumer applications
  • Full-stack engineering capability across backend, frontend, mobile, APIs, and system architecture
  • Proficiency in Swift and modern iOS architecture
  • Experience with declarative UI such as SwiftUI
  • Experience with unidirectional state management such as MVI, MVVM, or Redux-style architecture
  • Experience with dependency injection
  • Proven experience building customer-facing products from zero to one
  • Experience contributing to product definition, technical architecture, development, and launch
  • Understanding of mobile app performance, accessibility, and release/CI practices for large-scale consumer apps
  • Product-first engineering mindset
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience driving initiatives across teams, departments, and leadership
  • Bonus: Experience with modern web development tooling, including TypeScript and React
  • Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
