About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead Infrastructure Security initiatives in partnership with security and infrastructure engineers
Shape and influence the technical direction of infrastructure security projects
Rapidly prototype and validate project ideas through iterative development cycles
Balance outcome-driven thinking with attention to critical details and prioritize deep focus where needed
Define and secure stakeholder alignment on measurable success criteria for security initiatives
Assess risks and opportunities and devise proactive mitigation strategies
Maintain transparent communication channels regarding progress, developments, and challenges
Present outcomes and updates to senior leadership, including trade-offs, risks, and emerging opportunities
Protect the cloud and data infrastructure supporting the Airbnb platform
Partner with senior individual contributors and senior leaders on processes, strategy, and execution

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of work experience, with at least 8 years as a TPM or relevant experience
Ability to work through ambiguity and drive initiatives from problem framing through completion
Ability to adapt and work with teams having different operating cadences
Sound business judgment, analytical skills, ownership, data-driven analysis, and ability to influence results
Hands-on technical experience with infrastructure security, including identity and access management, network security, encryption and key management, secure configuration, container and Kubernetes security, and data protection in cloud environments or data platforms
Familiarity with incremental delivery and deployment
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Excellent written and oral business communication and people skills
Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
