About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Configure, maintain, and continuously improve Airbnb's Atlassian platforms
- Own end-to-end delivery of defined projects within the Jira Data Center deprecation and transition to Jira Cloud
- Administer Jira Cloud Software, Jira Cloud Service Management, and associated Atlassian tooling
- Design and implement Jira configurations including workflows, issue type hierarchies, permission schemes, notification schemes, screens, and field configurations
- Deliver Jira Data Center-to-Cloud migration workstreams and coordinate stakeholder cutover readiness
- Configure Jira Service Management projects, including SLAs, custom queues, JSM Forms, approval workflows, and security schemes
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting using native Jira Cloud tooling
- Support and maintain Airbnb's custom Forge applications
- Support Atlassian access management, user lifecycle management, license hygiene, and security posture improvements
- Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate needs into configuration and automation solutions
- Configure Atlassian Rovo AI agents and automation rules
- Write and maintain Jira Automation rules using JavaScript
- Use the Jira REST API for integrations, data imports, and custom reporting
- Support testing cycles, write and run test scripts, track defects, and ensure rollback plans
- Participate in Agile ceremonies for platform-focused workstreams
- Maintain system configurations, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to Atlassian platform incidents
- Identify and reduce technical debt and contribute to design and configuration reviews
- Help teammates learn through examples and feedback
- Participate in hiring and onboarding and provide candidate feedback
Requirements
What you’ll need- BE/B.Tech or relevant technical degree
- 3+ years of hands-on Atlassian administration experience, including Jira Software and Jira Service Management (Jira Cloud) in enterprise environments
- Solid working knowledge of Jira workflow design, including post functions, validators, and conditions
- Strong command of JQL for filters, subscriptions, dashboards, and board configuration
- Hands-on experience contributing to Jira migrations from Data Center to Cloud, including project configuration migration and data integrity validation
- Experience configuring Jira Cloud native tooling for reporting and planning
- Flexibility to work in USA overlapping work hours
- Hands-on experience with the Jira REST API using tools like Postman (GET/PUT/POST) for data extraction, integration, and reporting
- Experience maintaining integration touchpoints with Atlassian Cloud through service account creation and management
- Familiarity with integrating Atlassian tools with identity providers such as Okta and LDAP
- Familiarity with user lifecycle and license management practices
- Exposure to Atlassian Rovo or other AI/ML capabilities in the Atlassian ecosystem
- Experience building Jira Automation rules
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and JSON for custom automation
- Working experience with Jira Service Management, including SLA configuration, JSM Forms, custom queues, and approval workflows
- Experience writing and executing test scripts and documenting defects for platform changes or migrations
- Familiarity with Agile practices
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical work to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to deliver autonomously in a remote-first, fast-moving environment and keep stakeholders informed of progress and blockers
- SAFe or Scrum certification is a plus
- Familiarity with Slack, Asana, Figma, Airtable, and Miro is an advantage
