About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape, develop, and deploy the next generation of robotic solutions across Airbus’s global aerospace manufacturing operations
- Bridge hands-on technical execution with executive program strategy
- Lead cross-functional teams through the full innovation lifecycle, from concept and V-model architecture design to shop-floor prototyping, fine-tuning, and industrialization
- Define functional requirements, system architectures, interface designs, and FMEA risk analyses for advanced shop-floor robotic systems
- Direct end-to-end verification and validation testing
- Drive complex technical and research projects using Airbus PPM, PMI, or equivalent frameworks
- Manage financial budgets, administrative tracking, and multi-team scheduling
- Lead multiple teams concurrently and deliver automation and robotics solutions on time and within budget
- Oversee fabrication, simulation, and shop-floor integration of robotic prototypes and technology demonstrators
- Transition proof-of-concept prototypes into production-ready designs for aerospace manufacturing lines
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of leadership experience in project management within aerospace engineering, assembly technologies, robotics, or industrial automation
- Proven knowledge and application of formal project management methodologies (Airbus PPM, PMI, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in the administrative and financial management of research projects
- Experience leading multiple engineering teams concurrently
- Proven track record working with external industrial partners, suppliers, and multi-disciplinary internal teams
- Ability to manage and deliver across multiple, varied, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and can-do mindset
- Strong communication and team-player capabilities
- Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems independently
- English at negotiation level
- Advanced proficiency in French, Spanish, or German
