About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support development and customization of aircraft cabin and cargo interiors and payloads for airline customers
  • Perform engineering design, analysis, and integration of aircraft interior components from concept through final product installation
  • Provide engineering support to airline customers in aircraft operation
  • Independently perform routine to moderate design solution development
  • Work on detail part design, layout maturation, trade study analysis, certification activity, or in-service support
  • Create or modify technical documents in Airbus computer-based applications
  • Collaborate with Airbus departments to develop optimum solutions
  • Perform functional and technical tasks with general direction
  • Create and deliver technical documents and presentations
  • Establish tasks and completion methods for assigned objectives and deadlines
  • Communicate issues, solutions, ideas, and work status internally and externally
  • Support local improvement initiatives involving processes, methods, and tools
  • Travel domestically and internationally approximately 5%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical)
  • Minimum six (6) years total experience in design and analysis with cabin and cargo and/or system installation projects
  • Authorized to Work in the US
  • Experience applying technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve technical problems
  • Ability to work independently and in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical procedures, and bill of material systems
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to aircraft design, certification, and maintenance
  • Ability to provide technical guidance for routine to low-complexity problems
  • Strong computer background, including MS Excel and Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing
  • Interpersonal skills to interface effectively with all levels of personnel and disciplines
  • 3D modeling experience; CATIA or 3D experience preferred
  • Software coding in C, C++, Python, or other programming languages preferred
  • Working knowledge of Airbus Structures preferred
  • Experience working with airlines and/or MRO preferred
  • Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline preferred
  • Minor in Computer Science preferred
  • Conversational French and/or German preferred
