About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure the continuous operation of the IT infrastructure and compliance with agreed SLAs/OLAs
- Deploy new software packages, perform updates, and monitor the system lifecycle
- Manage and process daily ITIL processes, including incident, problem, and change management
- Analyze console messages and system logs and independently resolve incidents
- Escalate complex issues to specialized expert teams and external service providers
- Monitor regular backup processes and lead disaster recovery tests
- Use automated monitoring tools for system monitoring
- Participate in on-call rotations or shift models for 24/7 support, as required by the business
- Identify system vulnerabilities and implement new technologies and automations
- Provide technical advice to IT Operations during the introduction of new IT solutions
- Collaborate with the IT Product Manager and other stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Successfully completed degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a comparable IT qualification, such as an IT Specialist for System Integration, combined with several years of relevant professional experience in IT infrastructure and server operations
- Solid practical experience administering, maintaining, and orchestrating enterprise hardware solutions, such as HPE Synergy, HPE ProLiant servers, HPE OneView, and Synergy frames
- Comprehensive knowledge of and practical experience with the VMware vSphere suite, including ESXi and vCenter
- Experience with highly available virtual environments; vSAN, NSX, or VCP certification is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of automation and system deployments using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Ansible
- Proven knowledge of IT service management in accordance with ITIL standards, including incident, problem, and change management
- Experience ensuring compliance with defined SLAs/OLAs
- Demonstrated experience with entry into service, software upgrade packaging and deployment, and Level 2/3 system support
- Fluent written and spoken German and English
- Strong problem-solving skills and a pronounced customer- and service-oriented mindset
