About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead data engineering and Palantir Skywise integration to optimize operational decision-making, assembly line efficiency, and productivity across North American business divisions
- Design, build, and maintain scalable end-to-end data pipelines and analytical workflows within Palantir Skywise
- Transform aviation manufacturing and flight data into operational insights
- Oversee administration, scalability, and user enablement for Alteryx and Tableau
- Act as principal technical authority for Data Engineering and Palantir Skywise across North American Digital
- Establish development best practices, enforce data governance and security, and optimize data assets
- Partner with operational leadership to translate assembly, logistics, and supply chain challenges into technical data requirements and products
- Build and deploy advanced analytics and AI applications using Generative AI, machine learning pipelines, and custom AI personas
- Drive adoption of AI developer tooling such as AIP Assist, Gemini, and domain-tailored AI agents
- Ingest, clean, catalog, and structure data from APIs, databases, streaming feeds, and flat files into feature sets and Ontologies
- Monitor, evaluate, and optimize analytical and AI applications to maintain low latency, reduce technical debt, and ensure business value
- Lead technical workshops and enablement sessions across regional worksites
- Mentor junior data analysts, engineers, and citizen developers and conduct peer code reviews
- Partner with the North American AI Center of Excellence to build capability and execution templates
- Communicate daily with Digital domain managers, Product Owners, data engineers, AI delivery teams, internal and external stakeholders, and executive leadership
- Collaborate with Commercial Aviation, Airbus Helicopters, and global European IM and Skywise core platform teams
- Work onsite 60% of the time and travel 10% of the time
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in data engineering, advanced analytics, or business intelligence, or 7+ years with a Master's degree
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a quantitative field
- Demonstrated experience leading digital initiatives and pipeline delivery within aerospace, manufacturing, transportation, or complex operational environments
- Proven experience acting as a lead technical developer/SME, mentoring junior developers, and establishing code governance in agile teams
- 3+ years of deep, hands-on experience in Palantir Skywise
- Advanced technical proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and Spark SQL
- Proven hands-on experience with GenAI models, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and deploying AI/ML models into production workflows
- Expert knowledge of Tableau, Alteryx, and PowerBI
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Current work authorization for the United States; Airbus does not sponsor visas for US positions unless specified
- Preferred: Master’s degree
- Preferred: Prior experience in an international corporate environment with transatlantic cross-border coordination
- Preferred: Experience with GCP, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and MLOps pipelines
- Preferred: Palantir Foundry / Skywise Certifications
- Preferred: SAFe Agile Certification or PMP credentials
- Preferred: Cloud or Data Engineering certifications (Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP)
