  • Perform complicated static analysis for metallic and non-metallic aircraft structure parts
  • Support development of aircraft structures as a Static Stress analyst
  • Collaborate closely with design and fatigue colleagues to provide quality solutions
  • Use classical hand calculations and computer techniques to develop high strength-to-weight-ratio structures
  • Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions
  • Document analyses for trade studies and detail drawing sign-off for airframe structures
  • Collaborate with internal and external technical departments to solve complex technical problems
  • Develop advanced technological ideas and guide their development into final products
  • Utilize Static Approver and Authorizer technical signatory
  • Develop others in acquiring technical signatory
  • Support aircraft structures across the product life cycle, from product development to manufacturing and direct airline customer support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical)
  • Strong curriculum emphasis on structural design and analysis and mechanics of materials
  • 13 years total experience in static stress analysis with airframe structures
  • In-depth knowledge of technical principles of engineering
  • Applied knowledge of technical documentation, techniques and procedures
  • Strong computer background
  • Experience with MS Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Google Suite applications including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail
  • Authorized to Work in the US
  • Working knowledge of all Airbus Structures
  • Able to work onsite 90% of the time
  • Able to see and read computer screens, electronic equipment screens, documents, reports, and engineering drawings
  • Able to hear conversations, teleconferences, phone calls, production-floor sounds, safety warnings, and alarms
  • Able to speak in conversations and meetings and participate in communications
  • Able to operate office and personal electronic equipment and some production tools, including hydraulic lifts
  • Able to carry and lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30 lbs/14 kgs
  • Able to push and pull small office furniture, equipment, and tools
  • Able to sit for long periods
  • Able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace low-stored items
  • Able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor
  • Able to travel independently and at short notice
  • Able to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces
