About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform complex durability and damage tolerance analyses to verify structural integrity requirements
- Conduct detail part sizing, layout maturation, trade study analysis, weight reduction efforts, certification activity, and in-service support
- Document analyses for trade studies and detail drawing sign-off for airframe structure
- Collaborate with Design, Static Stress, and other Airbus departments to develop optimum design solutions
- Establish tasks and complete work independently against agreed objectives and deadlines
- Apply extensive technical expertise across related disciplines
- Obtain Authorizer Technical Signatory and effectively utilize Approver Signatory
- Mentor and provide leadership to less experienced structural analysts
- Lead preparation of complex business and technical materials and presentation packages
- Lead discussions on issues, solutions, ideas, and work status
- Guide or lead projects and execute activities to achieve customer requirements
- Serve as key technical contact on contracts and projects
- Interact with senior external personnel on major technical matters
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical)
- Minimum nine (9) years total experience in analysis with airframe structures
- Experience including fatigue and/or damage tolerance
- In-depth knowledge of classical and numerical (Finite Element) stress analysis methods
- Ability to work independently and collectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to lead teams technically to achieve agreed milestones
- Strong computer background, including MS Excel and Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail)
- Experience in airframe design (metallic and composites), stress analysis, SRM, MRB, FAR/JAR/CS/Part21, certification, CATIA, NASTRAN, and PATRAN is desired
- Effective verbal and written English communication
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Able to travel independently and at short notice
- Able to carry and lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30 lbs/14 kgs
- Able to operate office, personal electronic, production, and related equipment
