About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as senior functional Product Owner and tier 2 subject matter expert for core modules across the Workday HCM ecosystem
  • Manage and prioritize the functional roadmap and backlog
  • Translate business requirements into prioritized user stories, configuration specifications, and end-to-end workflows
  • Direct evaluation, regression testing, validation, and adoption of biannual Workday releases and continuous feature updates
  • Assess operational impact and advocate for relevant enhancements
  • Oversee system defect resolution and complex issue triage
  • Analyze root causes and partner with IT teams and Workday support on escalations
  • Lead complex technical HRIS projects from initiation through post-go-live stabilization
  • Coordinate major module deployments, tenant consolidations, acquisitions, operating model transitions, and system enhancements
  • Author and maintain project charters, schedules, work breakdown structures, risk/issue registers, stakeholder management plans, and cutover roadmaps
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and cross-functional working sessions
  • Enforce delivery milestones, clear operational bottlenecks, and maintain architecture compliance
  • Architect, execute, and govern testing strategies for projects, rollouts, integrations, and tenant updates
  • Author test scenarios, coordinate regression testing, facilitate UAT, and validate cross-system data integrity
  • Design and conduct functional enablement sessions and training workshops for HR team members, managers, and employees
  • Report to the Director HRIS for North America
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Human Resources Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline
  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Human Resources, or Business Administration, or advanced academic specialization in Project Management or System Architecture
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • 8+ years of experience with HRIS implementations, specifically HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Time Management, and Payroll
  • Experience with Workday HCM Suite
  • Proven track record leading complex technical HRIS projects using Agile or Waterfall methodologies preferred
  • Prior experience managing Workday products, operating company mergers, or complex multi-entity transitions within a global aerospace, manufacturing, or defence environment preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR preferred
  • HRIS certification preferred
  • PMP, PMI, PMI-ACP, or CSPO certification preferred
  • Workday Certification in Core HCM, Time, Benefits, or Payroll preferred
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Willingness to travel 5% domestically and internationally
  • Ability to work in an environment that is 60% onsite and 40% remote
  • Ability to meet listed physical requirements, including lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs/14 kg
