About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the ongoing operation and maintenance of Azure Landing Zone components, including management groups, subscriptions, policies, RBAC, and networking constructs
Monitor platform health, configuration compliance, and resource performance across Azure environments
Administer core Azure infrastructure services including virtual networks, network security groups, route tables, storage accounts, key vaults, backup, monitoring, and resource locks
Perform validation checks, configuration updates, patch coordination, log review, and issue remediation
Enforce governance and security controls through Azure Policy, tagging standards, and operational guardrails
Assist with incident response, root cause analysis, and problem resolution for Azure platform issues
Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, asset inventories, and support procedures
Support Azure Virtual Desktop host pools, session hosts, application groups, workspaces, FSLogix profiles, and user access configurations
Monitor AVD service health, user session performance, host availability, and capacity utilization
Troubleshoot connectivity, session reliability, login delays, profile container, and application delivery issues
Assist with session host provisioning, image updates, scaling, and maintenance
Coordinate with identity, networking, storage, and endpoint management teams
Participate in testing and validation of AVD changes and operational improvements
Respond to incidents, service requests, and operational alerts within defined service levels
Participate in troubleshooting bridge calls and support escalations
Execute approved changes according to change management procedures and maintenance windows
Identify recurring issues and contribute to problem management and continuous service improvement
Coordinate with engineering, architecture, security, and service desk teams
Provide after-action documentation and operational reporting
Investigate AVD user login or session performance issues
Review Azure monitoring alerts and take corrective action
Support subscription and policy compliance checks
Maintain host pool health and coordinate session host updates
Document incidents, recurring issues, and corrective actions
Assist with scheduled maintenance and operational readiness activities

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–6 years of IT infrastructure, cloud operations, or end-user computing support experience
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure in an operational environment
Experience supporting Azure Virtual Desktop or other enterprise virtual desktop technologies
Familiarity with Azure core services including virtual machines, networking, storage, monitoring, identity integration, and backup/recovery
Working knowledge of Azure governance concepts including subscriptions, RBAC, policies, and resource organization
Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and service health dashboards
Understanding of incident, problem, and change management practices in an enterprise IT environment
Ability to follow operational runbooks and standard operating procedures while exercising sound technical judgment
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
US Citizenship required
Preferred: Experience supporting enterprise Azure Landing Zone implementations
Preferred: Experience with FSLogix, Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity, and profile/container troubleshooting
Preferred: Familiarity with Intune, endpoint configuration, and identity/access dependencies related to AVD
Preferred: Exposure to PowerShell, ARM, Bicep, or Terraform
Preferred: Experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments
