About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take technical ownership of an active and diverse Nature-based Solutions portfolio
- Drive projects from feasibility through to credit issuance
- Manage Afforestation, Reforestation and Revegetation (ARR) projects in Africa
- Manage mangrove restoration projects in Southeast Asia
- Manage a large-scale regenerative agriculture programme
- Work directly with project developers, field partners, investors and carbon standards bodies
- Translate project concepts into structured work plans
- Define deliverables and coordinate internal teams and external partners
- Manage deadlines and provide clear progress updates against agreed targets
- Address Validation and Verification Body (VVB) findings during project validation
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4–6 years of relevant experience in carbon project development, with a strong technical background in Nature-based Solutions
- Hands-on experience with Verra methodologies, particularly VM0047
- Practical project experience applying VM0033 and/or VM0042
- Proven experience developing Project Design Documents (PDDs) that have progressed through validation
- Direct responsibility for addressing Validation and Verification Body (VVB) findings
- Strong carbon modelling capabilities, including developing ex-ante carbon estimates, defining conservative baseline and project scenarios, and substantiating key assumptions
- Working knowledge of major carbon standards and NbS methodologies, including Verra, Gold Standard, Plan Vivo and Isometric
- Knowledge of project registration and validation timelines, crediting-period requirements and rules on retroactive project start dates
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- French language skills are a plus
