Key responsibilities & impact

Contribute to development of the Cloud Load Balancer and other cloud-networking technologies
Create and integrate cloud-networking technologies and architectures
Develop best practices, share knowledge, and mentor team members
Design, implement, review, document, and test high-quality code in close collaboration with the team
Help design and build Akamai's next-generation Cloud Load Balancer
Manage projects and deliver work quickly and correctly

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of relevant experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear, scalable architectural designs
Strong proficiency in Python
Adaptability to learn and work in other languages, particularly C++
Understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, and HTTP
Knowledge of Linux-based operating systems
Ability to mentor and coach junior to mid-level engineers
Experience in technical design, product specification reviews, projects, and backlog planning
