Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage capacity planning and lifecycle processes for global physical infrastructure layers, including network fabrics, core backbone networks, and optical systems
  • Lead global colocation planning, evaluate site readiness for power, space, liquid cooling, and connectivity, and manage colocation exit workflows
  • Oversee core platform project planning across product types and locations
  • Prioritize execution, coordinate dependencies, and manage timelines to meet business objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve problems and improve network efficiency
  • Translate high-level platform strategies into executable infrastructure deployment plans
  • Deliver metro-level resiliency, redundancy, and scalable growth for Akamai's global platform

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
  • Expertise in internet architecture
  • Expertise in optical transport systems
  • Expertise in high-density fabric switching
  • Expertise in metro routing
  • Knowledge of colocation infrastructure standards such as liquid-to-chip cooling
  • Ability to analyze data and provide actionable solutions and thought leadership
  • Experience leading projects
