About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Apply analytical skills and statistical insights to identify performance bottlenecks and reliability challenges and propose solutions
Develop tools to diagnose problems faster and more independently
Define, implement, and mine data feeds from Akamai internal sources to produce insights
Influence company decision-making and identify areas for new technology investments
Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Product teams to guide adoption of new features and processes
Build software tools and systems to automate analytical tasks and workflows, increasing efficiency and reliability
Analyze and measure platform performance and reliability using large datasets
Develop forecast and early warning systems for content delivery challenges

Requirements

What you’ll need

Academic or industrial experience
PhD or master's degree in computer science or another quantitative field
Analytical background with experience in statistical data analysis
Experience coding in one or more of Python, C, or C++
Experience with Internet protocols: DNS, HTTP, TLS, and TCP
Understanding of machine learning algorithms
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to articulate technical information in an easy-to-understand manner
