About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate in functional and product design reviews
Incorporate feedback into comprehensive test plans and test cases
Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for functionality, integration, load, and performance
Create and execute test strategies for new features and platform capabilities
Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, architects, release engineers, and program managers
Build and improve automation infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
Develop and maintain automated API, UI, and system-level tests
Identify test coverage gaps and improve service reliability and scalability
Investigate defects and debug issues
Enhance quality engineering practices and tools
Validate distributed systems operating on Akamai’s global infrastructure

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in software quality engineering or SDET roles
Education in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or related fields
Expertise in Java and/or Python
Understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
Extensive experience building test automation frameworks
Hands-on expertise with Cypress, Selenium WebDriver, or similar UI automation tools
Experience with cross-browser testing platforms such as BrowserStack
Experience testing RESTful APIs and web services using manual and automated methods
Understanding of test design methodologies, automation best practices, CI/CD integration, and SQL databases
Debugging and troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with Internet technologies and protocols, including HTTP/HTTPS, web services, proxies, and web servers
