About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and develop security capabilities against evolving web-based threats, shadow AI, and browser data leakage
Own a mission-critical cloud-native microservice architecture protecting millions of enterprise workspaces
Use AI frameworks and tools to build AI-powered security capabilities
Develop Akamai's browser extension, DLP and policy engines, and IdP/SIEM integrations
Work across the browser extension, shared engines, backend services, and React-based management console
Collaborate with DevOps, Product Management, and Security Experts
Release secure, scalable code multiple times per day

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, an equivalent technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Highly proficient in at least one of: Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Rust
Hands-on experience in data modeling and relational databases
Experience building complex data pipelines and high-throughput architectures using event-streaming technologies such as Kafka
Experience developing cloud-native microservices using AWS, GCP, or Azure
Experience building security products or client-side software running on end-user devices
