Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build systems supporting automated operational workflows and providing insights into global network data
Identify and eliminate bottlenecks caused by process inefficiencies, manual toil, and technical debt
Generate telemetry data and deep observability for network infrastructure
Architect robust, maintainable, self-sustainable code
Focus on CI/CD, test-driven development, and iterative design
Support and deploy cloud-native, third-party software using infrastructure as code
Contribute to full-stack system design and implementation
Maintain and enhance network telemetry and automation software stacks
Improve development efficiency through software and SDLC best practices
Develop understanding of complex interconnected systems and contribute to their reliability
Collaborate directly with Architecture, Engineering, and Ops teams to design and build solutions for Akamai's global backbone and networking technologies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Passion for network automation
Experience or ability to contribute to the design and implementation of full stack systems
Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and develop software solutions
Experience maintaining and enhancing network telemetry and automation software stacks
Knowledge of source of truth systems, metric agents, time-series databases, dashboarding, and alerting
Consistent application of software and SDLC best practices
Understanding of global, complex, interconnected systems
Knowledge of CI/CD, test-driven development, and iterative design
Ability to support and deploy cloud-native, third-party software using an infrastructure-as-code paradigm
