About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Greet and assist patients, customers, and visitors in person and by phone.
- Perform patient registration in various systems.
- Answer phone calls professionally and courteously.
- Collect time-of-service patient responsibility payments when applicable.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when applicable.
- Perform preliminary patient screening, including medical history, before procedures when applicable.
- Transport patients to and from exam rooms.
- Assist with patient transfers on and off exam tables.
- Provide preliminary and post-procedure instructions.
- Prepare mobile units for transport when applicable.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Order supplies and keep the work area stocked when applicable.
- Ensure accuracy of patient records and document patient visits in electronic systems and written documents.
- Schedule appointments and obtain insurance verification and authorization when applicable.
- Prepare medical records for physicians, patients, and customers.
- Assist clinical staff with documentation and image delivery.
- Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
- For Mobile Radiology and Oncology, CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire.
- For Fixed Radiology, CPR Certification is a plus.
- As applicable, valid state driver's license required.
- Ability to work at several locations required.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
- Local travel may be required to support multiple sites.
- The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen required.
- Six months customer service or related experience and/or training preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
